Fly-In Fishing Lakes

There are few places in the world like the James Bay Frontier. Our lakes and river systems are pristine and support an abundance of healthy game fish. In Northern Ontario waters, the northern pike is it's dominant ruler, feasting continuously on an ample supply of walleye and yellow perch. Lucky walleyes can mature to be some of the biggest on record. Brook trout dwell in many of our rivers and streams and can occasionally be fished in smaller lakes.

Included in our fly-in fishing prices are a boat, motor and gas, fly in - fly out, fully equipped outpost camp, mid-week check flight ( offered to 7 day packages only )

Here are our Flyin Fishing Lakes

Barlock Lake - This one mile lake has miles of river access. Fly-in to this secret moose lake has produced monster northerns. Fly in restrictions may apply due to cross winds. Maximum party of 4. Barbless hooks ( pinch barbs close ). Pike and Perch.

Bill's Lake - This 2 1/2 mile lake is naturally spring fed and has depths up to 30'. Fly-in fishing heaven. A short portage at the bottom of the lake allows access to the Weak River where boats are kept allowing guests endless river fishing for Brook Trout, Pike and Walleye. Sleeps 6 people.

Bounce Lake - Fly-in to this lake is nearly 3 miles in diameter with natural sand beaches. 40' holes produce large Walleye as well as some rare Blue Walleye. Perch fishing is exceptional for this predominantly walleye lake. Sleeps 6, Walleye, Pike and Jumbo Perch.

Chappa Lake - Situated on a 3 x 3 mile lake with two islands and a great portage to i-Fred Lake. A beautiful bay with plenty of weed beds and 40' holes making it excellent for fishing Northerns. Fly-in for walleye fishing, they range between 2 and 3 lbs. Sleeps 12. Walleye, Pike and Jumbo Perch.

Crabs Toe Lake - New log cabin under construction. Sunken island on south end and rocky island on north end make for spectacular fly-in fishing.

Esker Lake - Pike and Perch are present at Esker Lake, although we are discouraging our guests from fishing here at this time. This fly-in lake is now mainly used as a base camp for moose hunting. Esker Lake may be opened again up in a few years for sport fishing. Access Queen's Lake from here.

Flapps Lake - In close proximity to the Chappa Lake water system but is not accessible from the main cabin on Chappa Lake. The fly-in outpost cabin, dock and landing area of Flapps Lake are presently being constructed. Future fly-in fishing guests can look forward to fishing this outstanding pike and walleye producer. Jumbo Perch too!

French Lake - Only 1.5 miles long and an average or 12 feet deep, this fly-in favorite honey hole is a consistent producer with access to other secret spots via the North French River. This camp sleeps 6. Walleye, Pike and Jumbo Perch.

Fuzzy Lake - This is a small lake with depths up to 56 feet. Fly-in lake produces large size Walleye ( including some Some Blue Walleye ) and great Pike. Sleeps 4.

Grassy Lake - Fly-in fishing for Pike, Walleye and Perch. Now available. Superior walleye fishing. Our fish finders indicate many 40"+ pike lurking about. The outpost cabin and docking area are completely rebuilt. Deluxe cabin features include shower, generator and air conditioning. Recent logging activity in the area has made it accessible by road. This fantastic lake is still a fly-in.

i-Fred Lake - Part of the Chappa Lake water system and is easily accessible from the outpost camp. Although this lake may be a little smaller than some of it's neighbors, the pike and walleye fishing is amazing. This fly-in only lake is named after our Internet marketing manager, Internet-Fred. Pike, Walleye and Perch

Johnny Bait Lake - This lake is fly-in walleye fishing at it's best. Named after Terry ( a.k.a. Johnny bait ) a long time friend and helper of Polar Bear Outfitters, Johnny Bait lake is part of the Chappa lake water system and is easily accessible most of time, particularly during period of semi-high water levels. It's own fly-in outpost camp is still in the planning stages. The beauty of this area in itself makes it worthwhile to explore. Pike and Walleye.

Leonard Lake - May 14 - June 19 Only! Fly-in Special! A camp that sleeps 6 and maintains excellent numbers of walleye, pike and perch and river access to 3 other lakes. Some logging activity in the area.

Madison Lake - Fish 4 different lakes from this location for Walleye, Pike and Jumbo Perch. This lake is 2 x 2 miles with an average depth of 14 feet, sleeps 6 people. Portage by river to Johnny Bait Lake.

Meagan Lake - One of our newest fly-in fishing acquisitions. We have yet to develop this area for our guests. This one will be made available hopefully within the next couple of fishing seasons. This pristine lake is worthwhile considering booking in advance. Pike and Walleye, Brook Trout access to Weak River

Nevada Lake - Pike, Walleye and Jumbo Perch. Will be re-opened up again for fly-in fishing within the next couple of seasons. Will be made available to our fly-in fishing guests in the near future. Nevada presently abounds with some huge pike and plenty of 26"+ walleye. The Jumbo Perch here are huge!

Stringer Lake - The name says it all. This Conservation Lake averages 12 feet in depth and is an excellent fishing spot for lunker Walleye and Pike with a whopping 54" caught and released. Sleeps 12 people. Catch and release No Pike kept - Pictures only.

Thorning Lake - Now a drive-in fishing lake. We use this lake primarily for spring sport fishing. It also serves as a base camp for fall moose and bear hunting. Pike, Walleye and Perch

Twin Lake - Enjoy fly-in fishing from two lakes which are on average 14 - 18 feet in depth with holes up to 28 feet. The cabin is conveniently nestled between the two lakes for easy access to both. Treble hooks are permitted for fishing however, they must be barbless ( pinch your barbs please ). Sleeps 6. Walleye, Pike and Jumbo Perch.

Upper Kat - 3 miles in diameter and up to 30 feet in depth with a rock island at the north end providing a great habitat for Walleye. Sleeps 6 people. Walleye, Pike and Jumbo Perch.

Whales Head Lake - 2.5 miles long, this lake is divided by and island. Walleyes average 2 to 3 lbs and the occasional Northern in the 40" range. Fly-in outpost sleeps 4.

Yesterday Lake - Almost 3 miles in length, this remarkable hotspot averages fish between 7 and 12 lbs. Consistently, some in the 40" range. This outpost sleeps 6 and is situated on a hill, embracing the morning sky. Guests can venture to other lakes via portages. Barbless hooks only ( pinch barbs close ). No trophy fish are to be kept. No Pike to be kept - Pictures only.

Notes: All fly-in camps are fully equipped for light housekeeping. Propane fridges, stoves and BBQ's and Coleman lanterns are at our guests disposal. Most have water pumps. Everything to make your stay enjoyable.
